How QuickInfra Reduces Your AWS Bill by Up to 65%

Cloud cost overruns are almost always avoidable. QuickInfra tackles cloud spend from three directions simultaneously: right-sizing, waste elimination, and continuous monitoring. Here's exactly how.

How QuickInfra Reduces Your AWS Bill by Up to 65%

The average company wastes 35% of its cloud spend. The waste comes from the same few sources in almost every case: over-provisioned instances that were never right-sized down, resources left running after a project ended, development environments that run 24/7, and storage that accumulates without cleanup. QuickInfra addresses all of these systematically.

Right-Sizing Recommendations

QuickInfra's monitoring layer tracks CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network utilisation for every VM instance in your connected accounts. After two weeks of baseline data collection, the platform generates right-sizing recommendations: instances consistently running below 20% CPU utilisation are flagged as over-provisioned with a recommended smaller, cheaper instance type.

Right-sizing recommendations include a confidence level based on utilisation variance. High-variance workloads (batch jobs that spike periodically) get different recommendations than steady-state workloads — the platform doesn't suggest downsizing a workload that genuinely needs the capacity.

Idle Resource Detection

Idle resources are the most straightforward cost to eliminate. QuickInfra identifies:

  • Stopped EC2 instances (still incur EBS storage costs)
  • Unattached EBS volumes
  • Unused Elastic IPs (charged when not attached)
  • Load balancers with no targets
  • RDS instances with no connections for the past N days

These appear in a dedicated Cost Recommendations section with a one-click action to delete or decommission each one.

Scheduled Start/Stop for Non-Production Environments

Development and staging environments don't need to run at 3am. QuickInfra's scheduled instance management lets you define business hours for non-production environments: start instances at 8am Monday to Friday, stop them at 8pm. For a typical IST working day, this reduces non-production instance runtime from 720 hours/month to around 260 hours/month — a 64% reduction in compute cost for those environments.

Reserved Instance and Savings Plan Guidance

EC2 Reserved Instances and AWS Savings Plans offer discounts of 30–72% compared to on-demand pricing. QuickInfra analyses your actual usage patterns and recommends specific RI purchases and Savings Plan commitments, with a projected savings figure for a 12-month period.

Cost Anomaly Alerts

QuickInfra monitors your AWS cost data in near real-time and sends alerts when spend in any service category rises significantly above baseline. A runaway Lambda invocation loop, a misconfigured data transfer route, an accidentally public S3 bucket being accessed at scale — these show up as cost anomalies hours after they start, not at the end of the month when the bill arrives.
